Christmas time is a great time for so many businesses, especially party DJs who can potentially earn enough money during the month of December to last them the whole year! 2008 was however an exception with many party and wedding DJs going out of business due to the lack of bookings.
DJs up and down the country will be hoping and praying for a better year this year and so far things are looking good.
Why book a DJ for your Christmas Party?
Why not just stick on an MP3 player through your venue's sound system and save yourself lots of money? Or you could just do without any entertainment at all.
That sounds like good business sense but probably won't get your employees very excited.
Here are a few reasons why you should have a DJ at this year's Christmas party
1. DJs bring big sound systems and if you choose a good DJ they should also come with at least 5 exciting lights, this can really set the scene and create a night club feel out of what was just a large dining hall.
2. On your MP3 player you may have hundreds of songs but most event DJs have literally tens of thousands of MP3s, CDs or records to hand which means that you can literally request anything and after a few minutes have your song played. Choosing to DJ the party yourself with an MP3 player you will be stuck with a preset play list and by the time you have changed the song to what your colleague requests the dance floor will be deserted.
3. MP3 players don't mix songs into each other they just play one song after another which means there will be a bit of an awkward gap of silence between each song when you'll have 150 people standing on a dance floor looking embarrassed as they realise how badly they've been dancing and then probably either sit down for the rest of the evening or in some cases go home! DJs, however, do mix song so you won't have this problem.
4. People don't just get up and dance after their meal they generally have a gentle push from the DJ or failing that the DJ will put on some classic disco that will get everyone up.
5. They need the work!
Yes by booking a DJ for your office Christmas party you could be saving a DJ from going out of business. It's a small cost and the benefits will be huge compared with trying to DJ yourself.
So when you're considering saving money with your Christmas party this year whatever you do remember the party DJs out there who will give you a night to remember and in return you might just save their businesses.
